2290	Portugal Paperweight.  Circa 1970.  Medium paperweight with stylized flowers.  This style is distinctive to Portugal. It has a two layer design with four yellow and orange flowers on the top level each with a carefully placed bubble in the center.  There is also a planned bubble in the very center of the design.  The bottom layer consists of four smaller blue and white flowers each with its own central bubble.  A very colorful paperweight. Medium size:  Just under 2 1/2" diameter by 2 1/4" high.  Circa 1970.  Bottom is ground flat.  Unsigned but I guarantee that this is a paperweight made in Portugal.  I have had other examples in the past signed with a label. 3128	Peter Raos Vincent Van Gogh Paperweight Perfume Bottle.  circa 2004.  This wonderful perfume bottle was made by Peter Raos in New Zealand.  It is part of his Vincent Series of paperweights and perfume bottles and features a Van Gogh type impressionist design of brightly colored millefiori flowers over a watery blue ground.  The very long slender stopper is a vine green with a bubble in the center.  It is signed at the base "Peter Raos 2004 NZ".  This is a hard to find item. Peter Raos works as a glass artist in Devonport, New Zealand since starting his studio in 1979.  He is a graduate of the University of Auckland Elam School of Fine Arts and Design.  Large Size:  About 5” tall by 3” diameter.  4 1/2" tall without the stopper.  The stopper is 3 7/8" long by 15/16" in diameter.  The base is finished flat with some remnant of the pontil mark. 2754	Modern Atlantis Crystal (Portugal) Owl Paperweight.  circa 1980.  This Owl paperweight is made by Atlantis Crystal in Portugal.  It is acid etch signed on the base "ATLANTIS".  The original label has come off, but I will send it along with the paperweight.  The label says "HANDMADE, ATLANTIS, FULL LEAD CRYSTAL, CRYSAL, PORTUGAL".  Atlantis Crystal was founded in 1944 in Alcobaca, Portugal under the name Crisal-Cristais de Alcobaca.  It began to export glass articles to the US and the UK in 1952.  In 1972, the factory was transformed to produce full lead hand made crystal made under the Atlantis label.  In 2001, Atlantis merged with Vista Alegre creating VAA - vista Alegre Atlantis.  In 2005, the firm became part of Libbey Glass.  Atlantis continues to make crystal products in Alcobaca today. Size:  3 1/4" high by 2" wide at the widest point.  The base is ground flat.
