Peter McDougall started his glassmaking career as an apprentice at Strathearn Glass in Crieff, Scotland back in the 1960s. When Perthshire was formed in 1968, he left Strathearn to move to Perthshire and worked there in many positions, eventually becoming Manager and Chief Glassmaker. Perthshire Paperweights closed early in 2002 and Peter is now making high quality glass paperweights from his own glass studio, PMcD Glass Studio Ltd. in Crieff, Scotland. I am pleased to be able to offer this selection of PMcD paperweights.

2344 Dramatic Large Peter McDougall Patterned Millefiori Paperweight. This paperweight consists of a paneled millefiori pattern of wonderful colors on a black ground. There are nine panels and a large red, white, and yellow complex millefiori cane in the center. It is signed on the bottom with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature PMcD. A wonderful paperweight with great color.

Large Size: 3" diameter by just over 2" high. Outstanding condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. Signed PMcD on the bottom. The signature is small and some people may have difficulty reading the signature on these weights. It also has a paper label from PMcD Glass Studio on the bottom.

2416 Peter McDougall Miniature Millefiori Paperweight.   This paperweight consists three concentric circles of millefiori around two central millefiori canes. Although it is not a true concentric, it gives the appearance of a concentric because the pattern is so regular. The ground is black. It is signed in the design with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature PMcD (as shown in the close-up).
This is often called a pressed weight because a mold is used to form the outside ribbing. The top is flattened. The ribbing gives the glass a real glittery appearance as you can see in the picture.
Size: 1 3/4" diameter by 1 1/8" high. Outstanding condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. It also has a paper label from PMcD Glass Studio on the bottom.

2353 Peter McDougall Medium Concentric Millefiori Paperweight. This paperweight consists four concentric circles of millefiori around a central millefiori cane. This is one of the few designs that Peter makes with a clear ground. Clear grounds are more demanding to make because they require more precision. It is signed on the bottom with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature PMcD (as shown in the close-up).

Size: 2 1/8" diameter by 1 1/2" high. Outstanding condition with no scratches, chips or cracks. The bottom is ground concave. Signed on the bottom with a PMcD cane. 2361 Magnum Peter McDougall Multi-Color Checquer Complex Millefiori Paperweight. This paperweight consists of a checquer pattern of complex millefiori with four multi-colored glass strands (blue, light blue, green-gold, and red) separating each of the 21 large complex millefiori. The ground is upset muslin. This pattern is designed to show off the variety and detail of Peter's large complex millefiori. It is signed on the bottom with a complex cane made from four separate letter canes forming the signature PMcD. It also has a paper label from the PMcD Glass Studio. An incredible paperweight.
This paperweight was part of a group of trial paperweights created in 2006. Only a limited quantity were made and this was never incorporated into the regular offering. The original recommended retail price was $500, but I am selling it for considerably less.
