Charles Kaziun was one of the most famous of the American paperweight artists.  He is often credited with contributing to the rebirth of interest in paperweight making.  He made paperweights from the 1940s until his death in 1992.

Charles Kaziun Faceted Checkerboard (Chequer) Millefiori Paperweight. c.1960-1980. Charles Kaziun checkerboard or chequer millefiori paperweight with nine complex millefiori canes spaced out and divided by a grid of gold aventurine.  The central cane is a wonderful duck silhouette.  On an opaque turquoise ground.  A wonderful weight with a number of interesting canes, including heart and shamrock canes and a great complex cane made up of hearts.  Click on the picture to see more details.  Faceted with one top facet and six side facets.  This paperweight is signed with a gold K on the bottom..

The picture does not do justice to this paperweight.  Ignore the white areas, they are glare from the lights. 

Size:  2 5/16" diameter by 1 7/16" high.  Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It is signed in with a gold letter K on the bottom.
