1069 Very Early Jim Hart Millefiori Paperweight.  c.2000.  Medium size paperweight with millefiori slices encased over a clear ground.  An interesting addition to any collection of Jim Hart's work.

Jim Hart makes fabulous millefiori paperweights.  This is one of Jim Hart's earliest millefiori paperweights.  When he first started he used canes such as these from Murano.  Jim Hart lives and works in Puyallup, Washington.  He has been making paperweights since 1998 or 1999.

Medium size:  2 1/4" diameter by  1 5/8" high.   Circa. 2000.  The bottom is unfinished and has a rough texture from the grid that Jim used for his encasement setups in the beginning.  This paperweight is unsigned, or at least I could not find the signature, but I guarantee that it is made by Jim Hart.  Jim normally signs his paperweights with a heart cane.
Excellent Condition:  No chips or cracks.  No flaws.

$75 postage paid in the US.

2208 Early Pairpoint Millefiori  Paperweight.  c.1970.  Patterned millefiori arrangement of seven millefiori canes and eight latticinio twists over an almost opaque pink ground.

Although the execution is somewhat primitive, this is an interesting historical addition to your Pairpoint collection.

Ignore the white areas, they are glare from the lights.

Pairpoint Glass has a long history extending back to its earliest origins with Mount Washington Glass in 1837.  Owners and locations changed a number of times and the name Pairpoint was first used in the 1890s.  The original Pairpoint companies were located in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  Based on the relatively primitive style of millefiori, I believe this paperweight dates from 1970-1971.  That would make it an early example probably made in New Bedford prior to the move to Sagamore on Cape Cod, Massachusetts in 1972.

Size:  2 3/4" diameter by 2 1/8" high.  Excellent condition with no chips or cracks.  The base is ground flat.

1419 Large piece of Stardust Glass Twist Cane.  c.2001.  Large piece of twist made by a marble and paperweight maker Robert Livezey of Stardust Glass Studio in Wingo, KY.  It was intended for use in making marbles, but the maker decided the design wouldn't work for marbles.  So he left this as a paperweight of sorts.  A fun item.

Good size:  1 1/2" diameter by  3 1/8" long.   Circa. 2001.
Excellent Condition:  No chips or cracks.  No flaws.

$45 postage paid in the US.
